Hey!
So, this week has been a bit more interesting. First things first yesterday we had the opportunity to have two of the seventy speak to us in una reunion de estaca. I am sorry I am truly forgetting english. It was super cool because I was trying to entertain to of the daughters of one of our menos activas and so I was not putting much of my attention in the meeting, but something happened that is undescribable. I randomly felt little bursts of warmth like I was being hugged by someone and I am able to testify that it was the Holy Ghost just giving me strength for the week to keep on pushing forward. It was so cool. I am so thankful for that experience that I had yesterday. And another thing is that my mission president is truly called of God. He bore his testimony during the meeting and I just know that he is my leader, he is my mission dad for lack of a better term. He and Hermana Barreiros are my parents here in the mission and I am so thankful to them. I am so happy to be able to say that they are my leaders. :)
Another thing happened yesterday that was really weird, so my companion needed a bathroom and here in Chile there are no such things as free bathrooms and so we went to a members home. Her name is Hermana Luz and she is always willing to let us use her bathroom, but her husband is a little creepy sometimes. And so my companion went to the bathroom and I was left outside and Hermana Luz went to another room and I was just sitting there waiting and when I shook his hand he was like don't look at me with those eyes, I can't take you seriously with those eyes of yours. And I didn't know what to say and I was trying to release my hand from his grip but he would not let me go. But finally he let me go... and I couldn't look at him after. It was so weird, afterwards we noticed that he was drinking, and so this is why... but have no fear he is this small little man named Oscar... Haha.
This past week we had a mini cosechon! I don't know what it is called in english but it was super great! We went to the area of the Elders in our district and we worked like there was no tomorrow. I loved it. And the elders in our district helped us find new investigators as well! When we did it the first time they were in our sector and they put a date with an old lady. And we found out that she really doesn't understand. It was really funny, because we have this picture of Christ being baptized and every time she saw it, she was like oh how beautiful.
When the elders put the baptism date on, they showed this picture and she was like oh how linda, or how pretty. And Elder Chavez, my zone leader was like oh thank you pretending that she was referring to him. And she was like no the photo. Ahaha! It was really funny. But yeah! This is some of the things that happened this week! I hope that you all have an amazing week! LIke my dad says Work hard!
Love,
Hermana Durfee
