What!!??? Training! You gotta be kidding! No, jk, I'll go where you want me to go! As the song says...

So everyone!! Listen to me!! Listen to what has happened here in good 'ol Chile! Dududududuuuu!!! Is everyone listening? Everyone?

Today we had cambios! And you know what that means there are cambios in the mission! Ahaha! I make myself laugh, I am so funny! If you don't know what cambios means go look on google translate, no, just kidding I will tell you it means changes. But yeah, so my beloved compy had changes and so she is now on the beach and I am like what!? How cool is that?!! LOL!! But, yeah! And now you must all know what has happened to me! I have been called to train. I know right?! (Said in valley girl accent). But yeah, the direction that Presidente recieves I just go with it, y'know? Y'know what I mean, Vern? (Dad, ;)) But yah, so that happened.

But yeah so let me tell you, (yeah Jeff I know, let me tell you) this past week has been a little crazy. Would you all like to know why? Well, I am not gonna tell you (said sassily) no just kidding, I will tell you, on Thursday we had an appointment with Manuel and we didn't go because tambien nuestro lider misional querría todos de nosotros a ir a la correlacion temprano, para que pudo despedirnos, (como mi companera, porque sabiamos, advinamos que ella se iba) so we didn't pass by and the second day we went at six, which was Friday and he was not there, and his mom was like super, I mean super mal. She was bawling and had been bawling all night because he just like left and didn't tell her anything and tampoco tenia un cellular...... and so yeah we went into the house to comfort her but we began to cry as well because we didn't know where he flipping was. For all we knew he could be dead. I said a prayer that day with my comp and his mom, Monica. I gave the prayer and I am never going to forget how I prayed that day supplicating with all my might asking the Father, our Father if He would protect Manuel. So, yeah we shared some scriptures with her about hope and faith to help comfort her and as well us because we were upset as well. So, then we left and it was so hard to work because we could not stop thinking about Manuel. Imagine this okay, put yourself in my shoes. We have this responsibility that God has given us, this young Son of God! And he was lost for two days! But he returned late Saturday night and we visited him yesterday. I am so thankful that he is okay! Oh Heavenly Father answers prayers!! God exists!! I am so thankful for prayer!!

This happened in my week!! I hope you all have a fantastic week!!

Wat's up yall?

Hey yall!!

So, this week has been a good one! One thing for certain is that every day is like a flipping dream. I mean I can't believe that another day has gone by, another week! In the scriptures Jacob is talking and saying that our life is like a dream! And let me tell you I feel like I am living in evidence of this every single day! I am so happy! Presidente said to me when we had interviews a couple weeks ago that I am always happy! And I am so proud that my happiness is able to be seen when people are far away because well yah! If he notices then I am sure that everyone else does too!!

So, let me tell you what I have been up to this week, well, on Monday I sent some letters home! And this is like the first time that I have done this well maybe the second if the pictures count but I am so excited for my family to find them in the mailbox!! It is so fun sometimes being here in a different country and having pen pals that write me every week! This one is for you, Mom!! :) LOL!!! But yeah!! That was fun!

And on Saturday we had an amazing miracle with my dear friend, and brother Manuel, our golden investigator!! We talked about not procrastinating the sacred ordinance of baptism and wanted to change his date to yesterday, but he is super firm in this coming weekend!! And AND!! He is talking to his mom about us and about the church we are going to have her be a new soon!!! I am so excited!!! So excited!! Hey did you know I am EXCITED!!!? But yeah, and yesterday he went to church again!!! AGAAIIINNN!! Woo hoo! and let me tell you it was super great because it was fast and testimony meeting! He got to hear a lot of testimonies!! Oh how coool! But yeah! I feel like my letters are shorter and shorter. Oh well... lol

I love yall a bunch!

Time flies when you are having fun...

So, what has happened this week?! Hmmmmmmmm..... Well, one thing that has happened this week is that my compy has been sick with a cold. She had really bad headaches in the morning and so we stayed in the house a couple of days. And those who have served missions will understand that being in the house is the worst place in the whole world for a missionary... I mean sorry Mom, for my language, but it sucks! It is the pits to be in the house when you know that there is no one that is caring and saving your area because your in the house... But yeah, she is better now. She had a blessing on Wednesday when we were in our district meeting, and then Hermana McCain gave us a call, she is the mission nurse, to help us out with somethings. But, yeah so the is one of the things that happened.

Another thing that has happened this week is we had interveiws with Presidente!!! Oh, can I just tell you that there are two men in the world that I love with all my heart and they are my Dad, and my mission president. Presidente is amazing. And I learned that he loves peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!! I love peanut butter and jelly sandwiches too!! OH MY GOSH! We are like in sync or something! But yeah my interveiw went super great! And can I just tell you that he also receives revelation! He is called of God. He shared a scripture with all the missionaries, but it was like for me personally. It is Doctrine y Convenios 103, versiculo 36. And can i just tell you that the night before I was like kind of discouraged and grouchy and was not really nice to my compy, but when I had the interveiw I felt super better! He is truly called of God! I love my dear mission President, President Barrieros!

But yeah! I am sorry this is short! Manuel is progressing! We are truly seeing so many miracles with him!!

I love you all!!

Les amo!!

I am not a perfect missionary...

Sooo, I just wanted to give a shout out to my awesome brother in the whole wide world, Jeffrey!! Happy Birthday, Jeff!!! I hope that you will have an amazing birthday and that you still feel young! Lol!! You are not old... or maybe you are... ;) Ahaha!! But yeah! Happy Birthday!

So, this week has been super great! We have been working hard! My compy is pretty amazing. I am so thankful to her and the knowledge that she has in the gospel! We have had pretty awesome success in teaching Manuel! He is so cool. Yesterday he went to church! I told yall that he would go! :) I am soo flipin happy that he went! It was funny because I was up in the stand playing the piano for the hymns during sacrament meeting. And he came in and sat by our ward mission leader and saw me and smiled. Then when we went to visit him. He asked me what I was doing up there was I like controlling the music with a computer or something. It was super funny. And then we began explaining the hymn book again. Like a review with him and he was so funny. He says to us, the letters are so small and then made a face and a noise it was so funny. I wish you guys could have been there!

But yeah! I have been realizing that sometime life is hard. The mission is so rosey compared to the real world... But that is okay. I am here to learn and to help bring people to Christ. I love the gospel. Yesterday we watched a video with one of our members in the world about the sacrament. and can I just say that I am so thankful for the sacrament. I am so thankful. I make mistakes every flipping day and gracias a la santa cena yo puedo arrepentirme.

I love you all so flipping much!! And can I just say that I am proud to be an American!!

I love you!

What does the fox say?!!! Wowowowowowowowowo

Hola everyone!!! My name is Hermana Durfee and I am from good ol Hamilton Missouri in the United States! I am serving in Chile Santiago Oeste! The mission of the flipping best! YAH! DEAL WITH IT!  No just kidding!

I am so like jumping out of my skin right now. I don't really know why? I think I may have psychological issues... :P No, I am totally fine! I am just happy. Because I am happy! La lala! like Despicable me right? But yeah!

So, I just have had an amazing week that's all... if you all really wanted to know. Lol. We have an amazing investigator, I told yall about him last week, but his name is Manuel if you forgot. He is flipin, oh my goodness, Uhhmayzing! He is totally interested in changing his life and totally reading and praying the only thing that he needs to do is go to church. He went to conference, but yesterday didn't go to church! I mean cmon! Cmon! But, yeah he has plans to go next Sunday and I know that he is going to go!! He is going! :)

But yeah, so I have some news right now and it is a little funny. This past week we have been showering with cold water because the water heater broke and so we have to shower so the water is flipping cold. I mean cold Man! And everytime I get into the shower I feel like I am on a rollercaoster. Like talking myself into just getting it overwith and the results afterward is that I am clean! But yeah so this weekend the guy that has been fixing our water heater asked me if my bishop writes me every week. And he said that every bishop should right there missionaries that are serving every single week. And I said well as of right now yeah my bishop has been writing me every week because my bishop is my dad. and that made him laugh! Ahaha! He then asked me when did your dad become bishop and I was like well like for two weeks now... Ahaha. It was a little funny if I do say so myself. (In British accent, if I do say so myself).

I don't know what I have but I feel really goofy right now. Ohh speaking of which guess this song! Nobody else but you, lalala something something! Nobody else but you! And then Goofy kisses Max on the head and Max is like Aaah Dad! all embarrassed and everything! Lol. I may have given it away, but there is still room to guess so do it! Just do it, right now. But Yeaha!!! We are going to rescue these people here in Chile!! Yeahahahaha!!!

Have an amazing week yall!

Con todo de mi amor,

Hermana Durfee

I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!

I am so amazed that I can have this kind of energy when I am walking all day and I only sleep for eight hours or less everyday. I just am jumping literally jumping out of my skin. Today is P day. We had an activity this morning como zona and we played soccer and I just loved it soooooooo much. I really like being athletic because my heart gets pumping and I sweat. Call me gross but I like it when I sweat because I know that I am working hard. Ahaha!

Sooo, this week has been a crazy week! My companion and I are finally getting a rythym and I finally feel that we are in harmony with one another. She is the best. I love her very much and she has been teaching me everyday. So, Thursday we were doing proselytismo and there was this dog and he was like staring me down, and approaching me very hostiley. And I was choked up with nerves and temor and all of a sudden he is like running at my leg and tried to bite me. But have no fear Mom, he didnt even leave a mark on my leg. I ran away when he ran away and then after my compy was just laughing so hard, and I will admit it was so funny because.. well lo siento you had to be there...

And so yeah on Saturday we went to the temple!!!!! We went to the temple with maria jose and her family. She is a conversa reciente and is amazing! She is so pure and I just love her. She is not my convert, but she is as good as. It was such a spiritual experience. I am so thankful for the temple and the spiritual strength that I was able to receive.

The last thing that has happened this week was Manuel!!! We have a baptismal date with him and i know that he is going to be a fantastic member!!! I am sooooo full of energy and excitement! Look for the new video graciasaquelvive and the missionary work and the atonement there are two videos!

Have a great week! I love you all!

Hermana durfee

Hola my wonderful family

Hey!

So, this week has been a bit more interesting. First things first yesterday we had the opportunity to have two of the seventy speak to us in una reunion de estaca. I am sorry I am truly forgetting english. It was super cool because I was trying to entertain to of the daughters of one of our menos activas and so I was not putting much of my attention in the meeting, but something happened that is undescribable. I randomly felt little bursts of warmth like I was being hugged by someone and I am able to testify that it was the Holy Ghost just giving me strength for the week to keep on pushing forward. It was so cool. I am so thankful for that experience that I had yesterday. And another thing is that my mission president is truly called of God. He bore his testimony during the meeting and I just know that he is my leader, he is my mission dad for lack of a better term. He and Hermana Barreiros are my parents here in the mission and I am so thankful to them. I am so happy to be able to say that they are my leaders. :)

Another thing happened yesterday that was really weird, so my companion needed a bathroom and here in Chile there are no such things as free bathrooms and so we went to a members home. Her name is Hermana Luz and she is always willing to let us use her bathroom, but her husband is a little creepy sometimes. And so my companion went to the bathroom and I was left outside and Hermana Luz went to another room and I was just sitting there waiting and when I shook his hand he was like don't look at me with those eyes, I can't take you seriously with those eyes of yours. And I didn't know what to say and I was trying to release my hand from his grip but he would not let me go. But finally he let me go... and I couldn't look at him after. It was so weird, afterwards we noticed that he was drinking, and so this is why... but have no fear he is this small little man named Oscar... Haha.

This past week we had a mini cosechon! I don't know what it is called in english but it was super great! We went to the area of the Elders in our district and we worked like there was no tomorrow. I loved it. And the elders in our district helped us find new investigators as well! When we did it the first time they were in our sector and they put a date with an old lady. And we found out that she really doesn't understand. It was really funny, because we have this picture of Christ being baptized and every time she saw it, she was like oh how beautiful.

When the elders put the baptism date on, they showed this picture and she was like oh how linda, or how pretty. And Elder Chavez, my zone leader was like oh thank you pretending that she was referring to him. And she was like no the photo. Ahaha! It was really funny. But yeah! This is some of the things that happened this week! I hope that you all have an amazing week! LIke my dad says Work hard!

Love,

Hermana Durfee
